The aims of the Playgroup are to advance the development and education of children and to provide a safe and satisfying way of learning through play in a 'parent involving' community based group. To work within a framework which ensures equality of opportunity for all children and families.

Within the group, all children are supported in developing their potential. A high level of adult input enables us to meet the needs of children. The curriculum is underpinned by guidance from the N.I.P.P.A., the Early Years Organisation, Social Services, and the Department of Education for Northern Ireland. We plan this through the following developmental areas:

Language Development
Personal, Social and Emotional Development
Mathematics
Knowledge and Understanding of the Environment
Physical Development
Creative / Aesthetic Development
Early experiences in Science and Technology

The group provide places for 24 pre-school children, all of whom have been funded by the Department of Education for Northern Ireland in the year 2000/2001.

Opening Hours
Monday, Wednesday & Thursday Mornings 9-15am to 11-45am
Tuesday Afternoon 1-00pm to 3-30pm
Friday Afternoon 2-30pm to 5-00pm

The children have the opportunity to explore and develop at their own pace with the help and encouragement of the staff. The group would love to have their own premises in the village, which would mean far more children could benefit from the this valuable provision; as the community is growing rapidly.
