Doctor's Surgery in Ballygowan to Close
Since March 2013 a proposal by Dr Moles and Dr Marshall has been put forward to the Health Trust to close the satellite surgery in Ballygowan.
We've started the petition "South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust: Closing the local doctor's surgery in Ballygowan" and need your help to get it off the ground.
Will you take 30 seconds to sign it right now? Here's the link: http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/south-eastern-health-and-social-care-trust-closing-the-local-doctor-s-surgery-in-ballygowan-2
Here's why it's important: In a village of almost 4000 people we need a doctors surgery. The alternative surgery given to the patients of the Brae Surgery is in Lisbane over 4 miles away. Whilst this may not be too much of a problem for those with a car for those who would have to reply on public transport it would be a nightmare.
Ballygowan is an aging population with a 30% increase in age groups 30 - 60 and 65+ in the last ten years alone. Services in Ballygowan have been cut by the various Government departments at an alarming rate with 3 local primary schools being axed in the last 5 years.
If the Doctors surgery goes then other services may soon follow.
